Zusammenfassung

Die Debatte um wirtschaftskundliche Allgemeinbildung währt seit Langem und wird ausdauernd geführt. Mittlerweile herrscht allgemeiner Konsens über die Notwendigkeit der festen Verankerung ökonomischer Bildungsgegenstände in allgemeinbildenden Schulen. Transparenter Dissens tritt überall dort zutage, wo die konkrete inhaltliche Ausgestaltung, zumeist durch die entsprechende Fachdidaktik, diskutiert wird. Bislang finden sich jedoch kaum einmal wissenschaftlich fundierte Studien zu den Erwartungen, Wünschen und Einschätzungen der ökonomischen Bildung aus Sicht der Lernenden selbst. Der Artikel sucht einen Einblick in deren Perspektive und versucht diese in einem explorativen Vorgehen auszuleuchten. Der elementare Kern der Untersuchung ist die Frage, inwiefern sich die Schüler/innen entsprechend der Zielstellung ökonomischer Bildung souverän befähigt fühlen, ihre Lebenswelt jenseits des schulischen Schutzraumes aktiv zu gestalten.

Abstract

For many decades the necessity of bringing economic topics into the domain of general education has continuously been discussed. The common consensus that has been reached throughout these discussions is that economic contents need to be included in the curricula of general education schools. However, there is no agreement on the nature of the subject itself and its content. So far, the above mentioned discussions only focus on the perspective of science and the evaluation of experts. Up to this day, there has been little scientific research about the students’ perspective on economic education and what their expectations, wishes or estimations are. This paper provides a first impression of those perspectives by the means of explorative qualitative research. Therefore, this study evolves around the question whether students feel able to participate in economic actions outside the safe realm of schools.
